Progetto per il Nuovo Istituto Comprensivo “Nino Cortese”
Casoria (NA)
When sustainability meets innovation: the inclusive institution of Casoria is a new way of understanding school, an alternative vision in design, uses, spaces and technology.
Innovation in the design approach, in terms of integrated process and attention to sustainability. Indoor air quality strongly affects learning and school performance, for this reason, each design choice is the result of an analytical study of the performance requirements present in two important international rating systems: LEED BD + C for Schools and WELL, among the highest scientific references in the field of green building.
Innovation in the spaces. A compact external volume able to relate with clarity and conciseness to the existing context, opposed to an internal succession of courtyards that constitute its beating heart. Use innovation. A school building that opens up to the city and can be passed through it, physically and visually.
Innovation in technology. A safe and sustainable organism, with a load-bearing structure of glulam reticular beams, cutting-edge energy efficiency strategies and a green system that cuts across the entire project area.
